Welcome to my blog! My name is Darius. There are three things that I have loved very consistently since I was a kid (cars, computers, and cereal). I'm sure I could create an entirely separate blog just on cereal so I'll leave that one out for now and this will be my Go Garage.

I built my first computer and started coding in high school and never turned back since. When I started coding, I loved the foundations of web development and being able to see something live that was accessible on the internet after writing all this code as I was just creating small, local terminal games in Python before that for some time.

Since a kid, I have always been fascinated with cars and what it took to make them actually run which I think stemmed from my love of computers and Fast & Furious. I had to make sure that my first car was a manual and my dad had instilled into me that the audio system needs to be swapped out instantly. I felt so much joy just commuting to work in my manual 1998 Toyota with ~94hp and knew that I would always love driving. It wasn't until university when I started to consistently see really nice cars like Porsches, BMWs, and Lambos, which really started my interest in ✨performance cars✨ and the engineering that goes into them including aftermarket modifications.

I want to use this as a space to share any projects, ideas, or findings that I'm working on wether it be my E92 328i or with Go. I have been working with Go for a little over a year and want to take my knowledge to the next level. I have read "The Go Programming Language" by Alan Donovan and Brian Kernighan, built quite a few smaller projects, and contributed to some open source projects. My desire now is to build some bigger projects that can have some real impact that can attract users and be able to translate the things I've learned into real production applications/services. I've really loved building TUI applications so my first project since launching this blog will be a TUI application for BMW enthusiasts, so stay tuned!👀
